shambhala mountain center

shambhala mountain center is in the rocky mountains about 2 hours outside of boulder colorado. mom and i decided to travel up to this beautiful center in the mountains and have some free sessions of tibetan cranial work done.  tibetan cranial is a 3,000 year old healing tradition from the himalayan highlands. it is a combination of disciplined technique and intuition.  it is kind of like a head massage with the practitioner pressing at certain points on the head, face and neck.  it feels really good and is an amazing form of healing for the mind, body and spirit.   check out www.tibetancranial.org

the shambhala mountain center is way out at the end of a dirt road. it was started by chögyam trungpa rinpoche, a tibetan buddhist meditation master, artist and author more then 40 years ago.  it is home of ''the great stupa of dharmakaya'' which is one of the most significant examples of sacred architecture in the world.

we arrived in the shining sun and walked up to the stupa before our sessions started. the place is beautiful and expansive and totally peaceful.  after our tibetan cranial sessions we had a meal in the eating hall and went to sleep in our sweet little home on wheels. the next morning we woke up to snow!!
